This "natural bowl" is crafted from highly rare Meokgam (Black-stained Persimmon wood).
A symbol of traditional Korean aesthetics, Meokgam is a variety of persimmon wood characterized by naturally occurring black patterns found deep within its core.
I turned the wood to a delicate thickness of 2–3mm, intentionally inducing the natural deformation that occurs during the drying process. The dark patterns along the edges of the bowl are the wood’s own unique, inherent pigmentation.
Avoid Humidity: As this wood object is crafted from a single piece of natural solid timber, please avoid placing it in humid environments.
Cleaning: To maintain the piece, gently wipe the surface with a dry cotton cloth or a soft paper towel.
Natural Movement: Wood is a living material that expands and contracts depending on its surroundings. Please note that fine cracks or slight warping may occur; these are natural characteristics of authentic timber.
Handmade Character: This is a 100% handmade work of art. As such, minor scratches or small indentations may be present, reflecting the unique handcrafted process.
Handle with Care: Due to the delicate, thin-walled nature of this piece, please protect it from physical impact and direct heat.
