Witherless Flower is a ceramic object that began as a gift Gangryu created for her mother. The artist’s mother disliked receiving fresh flowers, as their withering felt like an ominous sign to her. In response, Gangryu sought to create a flower that would never fade and could remain over time.
The work is designed to absorb fragrance through drops of aroma oil, allowing the ceramic surface to hold scent. Each piece is individually handcrafted by the artist using a hand-building technique. To date, approximately 200 unique variations of Witherless Flower have been produced, and in addition to available works, custom orders can be made in various forms and colors.
-Please apply only 2–3 drops of aroma oil at a time. Excessive use of oil may cause overflow or staining.
-Each ceramic piece is individually handmade. Variations in shape, color, texture, and surface finish are natural results of the making process and should be regarded as part of the work’s unique character rather than defects.
-Ceramics are durable but may break or chip if dropped or subjected to strong impact. Please handle with care.
-Unless otherwise specified, the work is suitable for everyday use; however, hand washing is recommended to preserve the surface and finish. Avoid sudden temperature changes, as extreme thermal shock may cause cracking.
-Natural signs of aging or surface changes may occur over time depending on use and environment. These changes are considered part of the material’s character and the accumulation of time.
