Creator Intro

Hong Hyun-jeong Hanji Craft Studio

Founded by a designer with a background in Industrial Design and over 20 years of experience in traditional Korean craft.

The studio specializes in combining Hanji and ramie, two traditional Korean materials whose textures and colors naturally harmonize and become stronger when fused together.

Through this material-driven approach, traditional craftsmanship is reinterpreted into contemporary decorative and lifestyle objects for a global audience.

Guided by the vision “Korea in the World,” the studio introduces Korean material culture to the international design market in a subtle, tactile, and modern way.

ARTWORKS

This wind bell is woven from ramie (-traditional Korean natural fiber) in the form of a bokjumeoni (- a traditional Korean luck pouch), carrying the wish that blessings be brought on the wind.

When hung by a window, the delicate texture of ramie (traditional Korean natural fiber) softly filters natural light, expressing the refined simplicity and purity of Korean aesthetics.

Like a gentle pause in a noisy daily life, it embodies Korea’s quiet sensibility and the beauty of an enduring longing that never fades.

Each carefully folded piece of ramie, shaped stitch by stitch, recalls the bokjumeoni (traditional Korean luck pouch) once made to wish blessings upon loved ones.

Hung near a window, the clear, gentle sound of the bell resonates softly, cleansing the space and offering a sense of calm and inner peace.

Production Technique: Handcrafted by shaping ramie through stitching, with traditional Korean knotting and bells
