People believe that fleeting moments pass by and quickly disappear from memory. However, some moments remain vivid and clear.
When I first encountered an old artifact crafted using the granulation technique, I was captivated by it in a split second.
The intricate decorations on the ceramic surface were more than just simple beauty, expressing the elaborate techniques and aesthetic sense of the era. I sought to convey the beauty I felt in the artifact, crafted using the granulation technique, in a modern perspective with a new approach to ceramics.
Now, it is reborn on the surface of ceramics, transcending time and physical properties.

The central motif of the piece is “gold.” I was inspired by an old artifact crafted using the granulation technique and wanted to reinterpret it in ceramics. By using overglaze decoration, I expressed the granulation technique. After the glaze firing, gold luster is applied to the decorations, which then undergoes overglaze firing.

Production Technique: slip casting, gold overglaze
